Leyla at work...

It's fun to paint big flowers, especially roses. I always shade my designs when I want to hang them on the wall but this time I did it on a scarf and I loved it.
I used clored gutta for the shading.

More New Collection 2012

I love love love my new collection. I was inspired by nature such as a flying peacock. They inspire the colors I create when I paint the tulips. I think nature is a great source of inspiration for silk artist because silk itself comes from nature.

Christian Dior Spring 2012 Couture

The Christian Dior Spring 2012 Couture fashion show was one of my favorite collections. It was very classic and conservative, and it reminded me of a mix of 1950's silhouette and 1980's design. The sheer fabrics used are very feminine and the waistline was very pronouced. The colors were monochromatic but they were gorgeous. It was all very elegant, glamourous, and sophisticated.

In My Opinion...

Eventhough designers try to make women look  more feminine; working women are getting far from femininity by wearing business suits to fit a "man's world".
A woman should not be afraid of being feminine. Business women can be stylish with color instead of wearing monochromatic palettes. A sophisticated combination of texture and color can be put together to show the feminine side.

The greatest designers are playful with texture, color, and design. Designers want to show all the qualities of women today with their designs.

Being unisex is too easy.
